We support...
...the work of GLASGOW CITY MISSION. One of our members is a regular volunteer giving freely of his time to help some of those in need in the Big City. The congregation has a permanent "MARS BAR APPEAL." This confection is an excellent source of nourishment as many a hill walker will know, and it can make a tremendous difference to a hungry person, especially on a cold, wet winter's night. We also make other dontations, especially around Harvest Festival time. We say this, not to blow our own trumpet, but to encourage you to think if you too might be able to assist an outreach project in your area, or, through clicking on our "Links" page, you might find interesting information on the City Mission Website.
...the work of TRAIDCRAFT and the Fair Trade movement to encourage a fairer deal for people the world over. As part of our commitment, we have an informal gathering within the church itself on Sunday mornings after worship where people can come and chat with each other over a cup of Fair Trade Tea or Fair Trade Coffee and a selection of Fair Trade biscuits. We have also recently become a Fair Trade trader whereby we will be able to offer Fair Trade items for sale here and at our Monday Morning Coffee Club in Kirk House.
